
Biographical Information: David E. and Linda L. Miller
David and Linda are residents of Dauphin Island, Alabama and part time residents of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. Both artists specialize in watercolors focusing on subject matter relating to the Gulf Coast and Florida east coast. David is a self-taught artist and Linda is a formally trained artist. Both began with pen and ink and moved on to acrylic and eventually settling in with watercolor. Their art has been featured, at various times, in galleries in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. They sell their work through art shows and to frame shops and gift shops. Current customers include the Florida Historical Society, The Alabama Tourist Commission, Alabama Conservation and Natural Resources Department, The Dauphin Island Sea Lab, The Cocoa Beach Pier, Five Rivers Delta Resource Center, The Fort Morgan Museum, plus frame shops in Alabama and Florida. They are currently members of the “Dauphin Island Arts Guild”, The Eastern Shore Art Association, and the Mobile Museum of Art. They both have participated in various area art shows each year including the Fairhope, Mobile, and Dauphin Island shows selling their work through their art company, Pelican Bay Arts.
David’s favorite subject matter is old architecture, such as lighthouses and docks, boats, and coastal scenes, plus area birds and fish. He likes to present these subjects interacting with various types of weather conditions such as storms. He paints in a realistic style. Linda also paints in a realistic style concentrating on scenes in Mardi Gras, sea critters such as crabs and fish, plus flowers and birds. Linda is a graduate of Florida State University and David is a graduate of Auburn University.
